GRUBB PROPERTIES ANNOUNCES AROOJI’S WINE ROOM RISTORANTE TO OPEN AT MORRISON
Local dining favorite expands into South Park with second Charlotte location

CHARLOTTE, NC – July 11, 2006 - Grubb Properties, the local real estate developer behind the Elizabeth Avenue revitalization and the emerging mixed-use neighborhood of Morrison in South Park, today announced a lease agreement with Arooji’s Wine Room Ristorante for restaurant space at Morrison.

Arooji’s – featuring authentic Tuscan cuisine, weekly wine tastings and live acoustic music – has become a popular local favorite in it’s current location at The Promenade on Providence. Owner Steve Arooji believes a second, larger location at Morrison will provide more convenient access to restaurant-goers in South Park and closer to the city.

The new Arooji’s will be located on Governor Morrison Street – Morrison’s main shopping thoroughfare – across from Earth Fare. With just over 2500 square feet, the space will accommodate approximately 80 diners inside in addition to café seating outdoors.

“We’re excited to welcome Arooji’s to Morrison,” Jonathan Nance, Grubb’s director of commercial leasing, said. “The food and service are exceptional, and Steve does a great job of creating a true neighborhood restaurant ambience. His previous success is proof of the concept, and we think it’s both a wonderful complement to the South Park dining scene and a perfect fit with the residential character of Morrison.”

Arooji’s Wine Room Ristorante at Morrison is currently scheduled to open by November 2006.

The lease was negotiated for Morrison by Grubb Properties’ Jana Foreman, while Arooji’s was represented by Jimmy Flowers of Carolina Income Property Group.

Arooji’s joins a growing tenant list at Morrison including: Earth Fare, winestore, Varji & Varji Salon, Swoozie’s and Stoney River Legendary Steaks.
