VARJI & VARJI SPA JOINING MORRISON PROJECT

Charlotte, NC – September 12, 2006 – Grubb Properties, the North Carolina real estate firm known for its expertise in high-profile urban mixed-use environments, today announced the second tenant of the multi-phase, mixed-use development in South Park is now open. Varji & Varji Salon and Spa is in 4,644-square feet at the corner of Governor Morrison Street and Sharon Township Lane in the Morrison development. It’s the second Charlotte location for the salon.

“Varji & Varji is an absolutely perfect fit for Morrison,” says Jonathan Nance, Grubb’s director of leasing. “We’re in the heart of one of the most upscale neighborhoods in the Southeast – which is pretty much a bull’s-eye for their core customer base.”

The salon’s space was designed by Santa Monica, California – based firm Pugh + Scarpa. Clark & Clark Interiors designed custom work stations for the salon using materials such as rosewood veneers, mother-of-pearl and stainless steel.

The company found the work-station materials in Yecla, a city in Spain’s southwestern Murcia region. The Art Deco/Art Moderne character of the salon is visible from the exterior of the salon through period-inspired cast window grilles. “Our goal is to be a retail destination characterized by unique but accessible merchants and restaurants – places like Varji that have great appeal but can’t be found on every corner in town,” Nance says. “From the looks of the parking lot, they’re off to a great start and we’re not surprised.”
