BARNES & NOBLE BOOKSELLERS TO ANCHOR GRUBB PROPERTIES’ MORRISON PROJECT
28,500 sq. ft. flagship store slated for corner of Sharon and Colony Roads in South Park

CHARLOTTE, NC – March 23, 2007 - Grubb Properties and Casto Lifestyle Properties, partners in the emerging mixed-use neighborhood of Morrison in South Park, today announced a lease agreement with Barnes & Noble, the world’s largest bookseller, that will make the premier bookseller an anchor tenant at Morrison’s most prominent site: the corner of Sharon Road and Colony Road, one block from Southpark Mall. 

 

The new Barnes & Noble at Morrison – with 28,500 square feet and a two-story layout – will feature books, cards, music, magazines, PC and video games, movies and a gourmet coffee bar and bakery.  Currently scheduled to open in March 2008, it will replace the chain’s current Sharon Corners location and join gourmet grocer Earthfare as anchor tenants in the 24-acre lifestyle project.  Other open and signed tenants include: Varji & Varji Salon, Winestore, Stoney River Legendary Steaks, Arooji’s Wine Room & Ristorante, and Swoozie’s.

With the addition of Barnes & Noble to the line-up of current and coming retailers, Morrison is positioned to become North Carolina’s premier mixed-use lifestyle center as well as one of Charlotte’s most desirable new urban neighborhoods.

 

The lease was negotiated for Morrison by Grubb Properties’ Nance, while Barnes & Noble was represented by Tim Brennan of Core Properties.
