ASANA ACTIVEWEAR SELECTS GRUBB PROPERTIES’ MORRISON FOR ITS INAUGURAL SPECIALTY STORE

CHARLOTTE, NC – July 11, 2007 - Grubb Properties and Casto Lifestyle Properties, partners in the emerging mixed-use neighborhood of Morrison in South Park, today announced that Asana Activewear – a specialty retailer of world-class active wear and athletic wear for men and women - will open its first store at Morrison in September.  The 1,955 square foot space will face Sharon Road, providing some of the strongest retail visibility in South Park.

Asana Activewear – created by partner and president Gary Schwake – will stand out in the athletic wear marketplace with an extensive collection of sport-specific activewear brands personally selected from around the globe, many of which will be new to Charlotte.  Clothing and accessories will feature the latest in activewear fashion as well as performance-inspired designs and materials, specifically selected for customers interested in fitness and an active lifestyle.

"People with on-the-go lifestyles desire clothing that can keep up,” Schwake says.  “They want fully functional workout clothes with enough style and engineering to make it through the rest of the day comfortably.  The clothing and gear we have selected are from small, niche brands that deliver comfort, style and high performance for a wide variety of activities: yoga, Pilates and fitness classes; running; spinning; climbing; and more.”

“We love these brands.  They are real, they are made to perform and they are guided by people who consider the world around them when producing their products.  Because they’re small, though, they’re often hard to find.”

“And we’re thrilled to be a part of Morrison," Schwake continued. "We think it’s the most unique shopping environment in South Park, with an eclectic mix of retailers and restaurants that matches our style perfectly.  We’re also looking forward to the hundreds of condominium and apartment neighbors who are starting to move in – Morrison is becoming a true urban community that we believe will be an iconic part of Charlotte."

“Asana will do well at Morrison,” Jonathan Nance, director of commercial leasing for Grubb Properties, said.  “It’s been carefully created to serve customers who prioritize a healthy, active lifestyle – which includes most of Charlotte, definitely the South Park community, and it’s a great fit with other Morrison merchants targeting the same audience – particularly Earth Fare and Laughing Buddha Yoga Studio.  We think they’ll have no problem finding a loyal customer base, especially after Earth Fare opens in mid-August.”

The lease was negotiated for Morrison by Grubb Properties’ Jana Foreman, while Asana Activewear was represented by Brian Craver of New South Properties.
