721 CONDOS AT MORRISON DONATES $50,000 TO FIVE CHARITIES

CHARLOTTE, NC – January 12, 2009 –  The 721 Condos located at Morrison, the new residential and shopping enclave in Southpark, announced today that they have donated a total of $50,000 to five different local charities through their 2% donation program that ran last Summer through the Fall.

 

The program selected the following charities to participate:

  • Habitat for Humanity
  • Mint Museums
  • Opera Carolina
  • Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina
  • Athlete’s United for Youth

 

Each partner was guaranteed to receive one-fifth of a 2% donation from every condo sale that took place during the months of June – October. The total donation is $50,000 with individual charities receiving $10,000 each.

 

“Thanks to the involvement of each of these non-profits, we were able to sell almost $2.5 million worth of condos at Morrison from June through October of 2008.  Given the incredibly difficult economic conditions for residential real estate sales, this was quite an achievement, and we were more than happy to contribute a portion of those sales back to our community,” commented Ray Shem, Residential Sales Manager for the 721 Condos at Morrison.

 

Kay Carter, Executive Director of Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina states, “With over 360,000 people living in poverty in our 19 county region, including 160,000 children and seniors, Second Harvest is so appreciative of this donation from Grubb Properties.  As we struggle to keep up with the increased demands in our community, these funds will help us feed so many people in need.  We thank them for including us!”

 

Morrison, at the corner of Sharon and Colony Roads in South Park, is home to a list of exclusive shops and restaurants as well as a collection of condominiums ranging from studio lofts to expansive, 3-bedroom luxury penthouse residences.  Pricing ranges from the $190s to $1.6 million.
