Link Apartments New York Expansion

Construction is progressing at Link Apartments℠ QPN, the first Link Apartments℠ community to break ground in New York.

Located at 25-01 Queens Plaza North in the Long Island City neighborhood of Queens, Link Apartments℠ QPN will be a 417-unit community, with 126 of those units reserved for affordable housing. The project also includes 6,920 square feet of retail space.

In September, all subgrade infrastructure work was installed, including power, water, and sanitary infrastructure. Crews also poured the concrete foundations for the structure and began vertical construction. Superstructure work has begun, with first-floor columns, second-floor podium, and second-floor columns all completed.

Work has also begun on the improvements to the adjacent subway station. Grubb Properties partnered with the Department of City Planning and Metropolitan Transportation Authority to participate in New York’s Zoning for Accessibility program. In exchange for additional density, Grubb will add a 24/7 street-level elevator to the attached Queensboro Plaza subway station, making the station fully accessible. This was only the second use of the Zoning for Accessibility program, and the first outside of Manhattan.

Local media has also been paying attention. YIMBY New York recently stopped by to document construction progress.

Over the next months, the building will continue to rise to its full 311-foot height and is anticipated to open to residents in 2025. It is located in a Qualified Opportunity Zone and owned by the Link Apartments Opportunity Zone REIT.
