The striking oak and walnut panel wall -- milled with tool silhouettes -- was designed and installed by local woodworker and mountain biker Kesean Cornish of Walnut and Mahogany Woodcraft. It’s the latest addition to the collection of works by local artists exhibited throughout Link Apartments® CYKEL highlighting its relationship with the natural environment, the evolution of transportation, and respect for the local community.

Gear Up With Expert Bike Tips From Jack Moore of Bicycle Sport

Bicycle Sport’s Jack Moore is a renowned bicycle mechanic in the Charlotte area with decades of experience in maintenance and repair. Before you set out for a ride, make sure your bike is ready to go by following Jack’s top maintenance tips.

  1. Clean and Lube Your Chain: Keeping your chain clean and lubricated is essential for smooth shifting and gear engagement, and prevents rust and wear, and extends its lifespan.
  2. Keep Your Tires Properly Inflated: Properly inflated tires provide a smoother ride, reduce rolling resistance, and improve traction, especially in corners. Regularly checking and adjusting tire pressure will also help prevent flats. The recommended tire pressure is always printed on the sidewall of the tire, under the tire pressure part.
  3. Check Your Brakes: Ensure your brakes have sufficient material and consider replacing them if they are worn down. Inspect brake calipers, looking for any damage or leaks.
  4. Get an Annual Checkup: Even the most loved and cared-for bikes are going to need some professional attention every now and then. Regular maintenance and an annual checkup help keep your bike operating worry-free and more efficiently, extends the life of all the moving parts, and makes the entire experience safer and more enjoyable.
