Grubb Properties Tops Out Link Apartments℠ 8 Carlisle, Marking Major Milestone for 67-Story Residential Tower in Manhattan's Financial District

Community supports City’s housing and sustainability goals

NEW YORK, NY, July 31, 2026 — Grubb Properties recently celebrated the topping out of Link Apartments℠ 8 Carlisle, reaching a significant construction milestone on the company's 67-story residential tower in Manhattan's Financial District. The July 30 ceremony marked completion of the building's structural framework and advanced one of the neighborhood's most significant multifamily developments toward its anticipated 2027 opening. Photos from the event and property renderings are available on the event photo album.

“The development of Link Apartments℠ 8 Carlisle, an essential housing community offering both affordable and market-rate units, is particularly significant as New York City’s housing crisis intensifies," said Clay Grubb, CEO of Grubb Properties. “It also reflects our belief that attainable and thoughtfully designed housing can provide the foundation needed for working New Yorkers to build more economically mobile lives.”

Link Apartments℠ 8 Carlisle addresses New York City’s interconnected vision for much-needed affordable and market-rate apartments with environmentally responsible design. Under Grubb Properties' Link Apartments℠ strategy, features promoting energy efficiency, environmental sustainability, and resident well-being are imbedded throughout the community, including in-unit energy efficiency features that lower utility bills for residents.

About Link Apartments℠ 8 Carlisle

Link Apartments℠ 8 Carlisle, located at the corner of Washington and Carlisle streets just south of the World Trade Center, comprises 462 studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments. 140 of the units are designated affordable under the 421(a) Affordable New York program. Apartments feature carefully planned floor plans that optimize living space, kitchen workspace, and storage.

The community also features a curated collection of lifestyle amenities.  On the 64th floor, residents will enjoy a swimming pool and sky lounge with panoramic city views. The property also features a fitness center with outdoor terrace access, coworking spaces, a demonstration kitchen, entertainment rooms, bicycle storage, a full-time doorman and a live-in superintendent.

Link Apartments℠ 8 Carlisle is being built by Consigli Construction Co., Inc. and was designed by Handel Architects.

"As New York City's built environment continues to evolve, delivering high-quality housing while advancing sustainability has never been more important," said Laura Bush, Regional Director – NYC Metro & NJ/PA at Consigli Construction Co., Inc. "Consigli is proud to deepen our Link Apartments℠ project partnership with Grubb Properties, building on a shared commitment to creating affordable and market-rate housing that meets the city’s growing needs, strengthens neighborhoods and supports the residents who call this community home.”

For decades known primarily as the nation's financial center, the Financial District has evolved into a thriving live-work neighborhood with an expanding mix of residential, retail, dining, cultural and recreational destinations. The property's location places residents within four blocks of the N, R, W, 1, 4 and 5 subway lines while providing convenient access to additional transit serving all five boroughs. Battery Park, the Staten Island Ferry, the World Trade Center campus and the neighborhood's growing collection of restaurants, entertainment venues and employers are all within walking distance.

Link Apartments℠ 8 Carlisle represents Grubb Properties' second multifamily community in New York City. The company's first New York development, Link Apartments® QPN in Long Island City, opened for leasing in April 2025 and is fully leased, reflecting sustained demand for well-located, professionally managed rental housing across the city. That project was also built by Consigli and designed by Handel Architects.

"As cities continue to confront housing shortages, we believe intentionally planned multifamily communities play an increasingly important role in creating vibrant, economically resilient neighborhoods," Grubb said. "Link Apartments℠ 8 Carlisle represents our investment not only in Lower Manhattan, but in the future of essential housing."
