Link Apartments℠ 8 Carlisle Construction Update
Link Apartments℠ 8 Carlisle, a 462-unit multifamily development, continues to take shape in New York City’s sought-after Financial District.
“The demand for rental apartments in Manhattan’s Financial District is robust and has consistently outpaced inventory, a dynamic that has only intensified as the neighborhood evolves into a round-the-clock live/work destination,” says Clay Grubb, CEO of Grubb Properties. “With Link Apartments℠ 8 Carlisle, we’re bringing our brand of apartments designed for Millennial and Gen Z renters to the Financial District, where virtually no new units have been added to existing inventory in the past three years and the submarket vacancy rate has sunk to a 10-year low.”
With its first units expected to be completed in 2027, the 67-story Link Apartments℠ 8 Carlisle ultimately will deliver 462 studio, one- and two-bedroom units with an average unit size of 584 square feet. Amenities will include a 64th-floor lounge, swimming pool, fitness center with outdoor terrace access, coworking spaces, demo kitchen, entertainment rooms, bike storage, a full-time doorman, and live-in superintendent.
Recent construction milestones include:
- poured concrete throughout the 40th floor
- installation of permanent stairs through the 37th floor, with the construction lift raised to the 35th floor to facilitate continued activity
- started installation of the curtain wall
- mechanical, plumbing, ductwork, and fire protection work in the lower levels
- ongoing construction of the elevator shaft, masonry work, and interior framing on multiple floors
A key attraction of Link Apartments℠ 8 Carlisle is its premier location at the corner of Washington and Carlisle streets, just south of the World Trade Center complex. The community is within four blocks of the N, R, W, 1, 4, and 5 subway lines and is a short walk to multiple subway lines serving the five New York City boroughs. In addition to being home to an ever-expanding list of dining and nightlife options and cultural attractions, the Financial District is home to Battery Park, 25 acres of green space with harbor views and access to the Staten Island ferry. The neighborhood also boasts blue-chip employers across high-paying industries.
Link Apartments℠ 8 Carlisle is Grubb Properties’ second New York City multifamily community. Link Apartments® QPN, a 417-unit, 26-story multifamily community in Long Island City, opened for leasing in April 2025, has 100% occupancy in its market-rate units, and is expected to achieve full stabilization in 2026.
As is consistent with the Link Apartments® brand, both communities are designed with a focus on efficiency, including thoughtfully designed floor plans that increase usable square footage while creating desirable amenities, including walk-in closets, larger living rooms, and additional kitchen counter space.
