Construction Update: Link Apartments℠ Lake Park

April 13, 2026

Link Apartments℠ Lake Park, a 277-unit multifamily development that anchors a mixed-use community in Smyrna, GA, continues to mark key construction milestones as it progresses toward a second-quarter 2026 delivery of essential housing to the supply-constrained Atlanta metro area.

“Smyrna is one of most in-demand and rapidly evolving submarkets in the region, where increased competition for housing and a sustained period of underbuilding have created a shortage of attractively priced options for middle-income renters, particularly Gen Z and Millennials,” says Clay Grubb, CEO of Grubb Properties.

“With Link Apartments℠ Lake Park, we’re bringing to Smyrna our brand of essential housing designed for young professional renters who want modern living spaces and intentionally selected amenities in a city known for its rare combination of location, livability, and thoughtful redevelopment.”

The five-story Link Apartments℠ Lake Park features 277 studio, one-, and two-bedroom units with modern amenities including a resort-style pool, clubhouse, fitness and cycle center, and landscaped courtyards. The community offers a pedestrian-friendly design, structured parking shared with the adjacent office property, and direct trail connectivity to the surrounding area.

Recent construction milestones are occurring across interiors, amenities and the site:
  • installation of flooring through Level 4 in all buildings
  • appliance installation underway in early units
  • installation of floor tile, wall tile and millwork complete
  • installation of bike hooks and related storage components in the cycle center
  • ongoing landscaping, construction of the pool courtyard trellis, and final asphalt application
  • completion of the new wood boardwalk along the trail, a key to the community’s connectivity

On what was once 9.7 acres of a surface parking lot, Link Apartments℠ Lake Park also will feature 20,000 square feet of commercial space in addition to the multifamily units. The project exemplifies Grubb Properties’ innovative strategy of repurposing aging suburban office parks into vibrant multi-use communities, as featured in The New York Times. Under this approach, Grubb Properties acquires well-located office parks near major employment centers, upgrades the office space, and introduces multifamily communities and green space to replace underutilized parking lots. Parking is provided in decks shared by both residents and office tenants.

A key attraction of Link Apartments℠ Lake Park is its premier location, just over one mile from Truist Park, the home of the Atlanta Braves, and The Battery, a dynamic entertainment, dining, and shopping district surrounding the ballpark. To facilitate and encourage the use of alternative forms of transportation, Link Apartments℠ Lake Park also will include the first section of a multi-use trail that is intended to eventually extend south to The Battery, and a Cycle Center that can hold up to 150 bikes to encourage the use of alternative transportation.
