Grubb Properties Tops Out Link Apartments℠ 8 Carlisle, Marking Major Milestone for 67-Story Residential Tower in Manhattan's Financial District
August 6, 2026
Grubb Properties recently celebrated the topping out of Link Apartments℠ 8 Carlisle, marking a significant construction milestone on the 67-story residential tower in Manhattan's Financial District. The July 30 ceremony commemorated the completion of the building's structural framework and advanced one of the neighborhood's most significant multifamily developments toward its anticipated 2027 opening.
The topping out ceremony, a long-standing construction tradition, signaled that the Link Apartments℠ 8 Carlisle structure has reached its full height. Workers and project partners joined builder Consigli Construction Co., Inc., building designer Handel Architects, and Grubb Properties team members in commemorating the milestone. While the building still has months of work ahead, including facade installation, interior finishes and amenity buildouts, topping out represents a pivotal transition from vertical construction to the detailed work that will transform the structure into a finished home for future residents.
Representatives of Grubb Properties at the ceremony included Todd Williams, President; Skip Schwartz, Chief Investment Officer; Rob Duguid, Chief Construction Officer; Lauren Cahill, Senior Vice President, Development; Dave Stewart, Senior Vice President, Finance; and Christian Restrepo, Development Project Manager.
“Link Apartments℠ 8 Carlisle represents an important milestone not only for this project, but for Grubb Properties as a company,” said Cahill. “As the tallest and largest development in our firm's history, it reflects our successful expansion into New York City and our ability to execute complex, large-scale developments in one of the world's most competitive real estate markets. We're grateful to our project partners and the skilled tradespeople whose expertise and dedication have brought us to this milestone, and we look forward to welcoming residents to their new homes in 2027.”
“This ceremony was an exciting milestone to share with our partners as we move to further Grubb Properties’ presence in New York City and work to deliver essential housing in this dynamic market,” said Schwartz. “We are excited to see the building’s progress and to bring a new addition to the skyline.”
Link Apartments℠ 8 Carlisle is Grubb Properties' second multifamily community in New York City. Its first New York development, Link Apartments® QPN in Long Island City, opened for leasing in April 2025 and is fully leased, reflecting sustained demand for well-located, professionally managed rental housing across the city. That project was also built by Consigli and designed by Handel Architects.
